Sunday 6th June 2010 - The Polkadot Challenge - The Polkadot - "Spud" Riley Memorial Gran Fondo is a 100 mile bike ride, organised by MANCHESTER VELO C.R.C. on the lines of the classic Italian Gran Fondo events. It starts in Woodford Village 10 miles South of Manchester and covers 100 miles through Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, with 16 official climbs varying in length from 1/2 mile to 5mls with gradients up to 20%. There is a 54 mile option for those requiring an easier ride. The whole route and all the climbs are fully signposted and at the start of each climb is a sign showing its number, name and distance to the summit. More information click here
